This policy is by no means exhaustive and will be updated as The Club expands and grows.

 

We recognise that The Club is a space for children to enjoy activities and calm time in a safe environment until parents can collect. 

 

We understand The Club is not structured learning time and therefore classroom rules are more relaxed.  

 

We recognise that in order for The Club to run effectively and safely, a behaviour policy not dissimilar to the School Policy needs to be implemented and maintained. 

 

We expect all team members and children to be always treated in a courteous and polite manner. There is an expectation that The Club will provide a safe, warm environment for all children and team members to enjoy in a comfortable atmosphere.  

 

Team members will deal with any behaviour issues that may arise including: 

• Rudeness to team members or other children. 

• Physical action towards a member for team members. 

• Refusal to comply with any given instruction. 

• Hurting or bullying of other children – physical or verbal. 

• Dangerous behaviour in The Club. 

 

Team members will deal with poor behaviour in the following manner: 

• In the first instance team members will inform the child that a verbal warning will be given should the behaviour occur again. 

• In the second instance a verbal warning will be given. 

• If the poor behaviour continues the child will be removed from the group for some time out. 

• Should poor behaviour continue at this point, team members will inform parent/carer at pick up and Odette Cohen and Hannah Mindel will also be informed. 

• If behaviour continues to escalate once parents have been informed, Odette Cohen and Hannah Mindel will arrange a reconciliation meeting with parents to discuss appropriate action regarding future attendance at The Club. 

• We reserve the right to cease ongoing attendance with no notice should an incident occur that we deem beyond the Behaviour Policy boundaries. 

 

Any physical action towards a member of team members by a child will be sanctioned with an immediate fixed term exclusion from The Club. The length and nature of the exclusion is at Odette Cohen’s discretion. 

 

Corporal punishment, and the threat of it, is entirely prohibited. Any use will lead to immediate dismissal and will be reported to the police. 

 

If parents have any concerns about their child, or if there are any issues arising, they are welcome to discuss with Club team members at drop off or pick up or contact Odette Cohen directly. We expect parents to keep us informed, and support us where necessary, in disclosing the needs of their children in order to keep communication open. 

 

Parents should feel free to contact Odette Cohen, as the designated Safeguarding Officer, at any time to discuss behaviour or any issues.
